license increase

Renewed my license at Wal-Mart yesterday. It was the standard hunting/fishing without the trout stamp. It was $37.00. I was expecting to get the usual TWRA waterproof license; but instead, I was given a printed copy of my license on regular paper. The Wal-Mart employee said that the license is no longer printed on the TWRA waterproof paper. Has anyone else gotten their license on regular printer paper?

I can tolerate the increase but I get depressed when I see twra in action they have assumed control of most boat ramps here they dont cut grass or pick up trash I know on normandy . I fished below the dam at woods since I could get there 911 came they put a cable up but u could walk a half mile and fish 911 threat is over but the cable still there called twra they said it was closed due to trash but u can still walk in when they walk in there not gonna bring 2 rockfish plus tackle trash g ge ts left open the dam up handicappepeople can fish ant throw the trash in there trucks I despise twra

I got the printer paper too. And paid five dollars extra for a durable hardcard for a total of $61

So I believe that makes my out-of-state Alabama annual license cheaper than my resident Tennessee annual license

Well, if TN went up on the Non Resident fees, AL will follow suit. I still say TN should separate the license. You should be able to by fishing or hunting or a combination license. I gave up hunting years ago. Heck most of the time you can't really call what I do fishing.
It is really just casting practice. emoLaugh

For a non resident, maybe a tourist or someone that would like to spend a day trout fishing while visiting chattanooga, it will cost $40.50 per person. I think doing away with a one day non resident lic was a greedy move and will stop most people from fishing here.
I also think $99.00 for a non resident trout lic is to high

Georgia boy. I have no issues with price I buy GA, bama, and tenn every yr. I wil not add trout any longer, just too much. I also agree about the 3 day out of state. My brother comes in from OK every yr. $20,not to mention $40.50 for trout, to fish a few hour one day I believe could be less. Def makes you wanna try and make the day worth it. Oh yeah I got the plain printer paper this yr too. Didn't even realize.

Why 37.00 I got mine the other day for 34.00 at Gander Mtn.

I got mine at Bass Pro Shops. They had an option to pay $5 extra dollars to get a nice drivers lincense type of fishing license in the mail a few days after you purchase the license. I think you can upgrade it at a later point.

I have a laminator and will probably do that. I would've paid $5 extra for the license and never said a word, if they handed me something compact and durable but won't upgrade because I'm still chapped. Not the cost, just the downgrade in quality. It now matches my outtastate 'bama license

I got mine wed. I think we pay to much. every body doesn't hunt so why buy both. i think it's about the dollar.

I don't think it's right that is patrons that live in NW Georgia don't have anywhere close to fish so we go to Chick or Nickajack and have to pay $50 for out of state license. Now that's too much.

If Georgia gets their way, you'll have a little stretch of bank on Nickajack to fish, with your state license and I'll have to get an outta state to fish it.

Guys I got mine at R&R Bait and Tackle today and they have a small printer similar to last years and the paper in it is from TWRA. The paper is coated and thicker than last years paper. I've heard some places are using a regular printer and paper this year since the program is on a computer now. It could just be where you buy them from. Could be some places didn't invest in the printer and took the cheap way out.

AGREED!!! I could not believe when the guy handed me a PAPER copy!!! i told him, this is RIDICULOUS!!! though two things you can do.... 1. i paid the $5.00 more to receive the plastic credit card like copy of license that they send you in like a couple of weeks of getting your renewed license. or 2. you can keep your old water proof license which i also have done, and any wildlife officer can check your license by the number on your old license. anyway i still would have liked to have new water proof license!
