more on the aquatic vegetation: Boone

Since the hot thread seems mostly centered on Chickamauga, I though I would start a new thread regarding Boone which has been drawn down for several years for dam repair:

Reading the article shows TVA publically admits aquatic vegetation is helpful and should be managed.

There is no conspiracy to kill all of the vegetation.

I know back in the 80's I watched the evening news and the powers to be at TVA said they were only going to spray the grass around marinas. public swimming areas and docks. The very next morning I am fishing inside Hiwassee Island. Here comes an air boat inside the island. They start spraying all around me. I stop them and told them what TVA said on the news last night. They laughed at me and told me they had so much of the chemical they couldn't store it all inside. They said the EPA required them to store it in a contained area, so they were told to spray all the grass they saw. I said you mean to tell me it isn't safe to store it in a barrel outside but it is safe to spray in the water? They said they were just getting paid to spray it.

TVA are a bunch of liars. I am from Johnson City and Boone is my home Lake. It has never been much of a fishery, but rather a recreational lake. They are blowing smoke up people's rear ends about the whole dam situation. It only took them 2 years to build the thing and it's going to take them until 2022 now to repair the earthen part that's leaking? I think they're full of it and there is a lot more to the story that they're telling.
