Danny I have not made any "jump" as you say. I simply posted a couple articles about the subject. I did not write the articles and if ESPN and many other sportsman's groups had not weighed in I might not have posted this.
I do know for a fact that were it not for the Republicans and the NRA we would have lost our second ammendment rights long ago. I for one WILL perpetuate the scare tactics to keep my constitutional rights. I believe it is the only way.
These PETA type groups have made inroads with the help of the democratic party all over the country. Same way with the fags. Same way with the illegal aliens. They are all cut from the same cloth and want to tear our country down.
The only way to stop them is to be proactive. I think we that oppose this kind of garbage should use whatever legal means necessary to educate the otherwise ignorant people that the democratic party is not as good a friend as their supporters think they are.

You did title the thread "Obama Bans Sportfishing" which you know or should know that's not the case at all, which to me was a huge jump once I read the articles. If being proactive means spinning a couple of articles to mean that OBama wants my fishing rod and gun, I do understand the whatever means necessary approach. Many of us can see it for what it is, others can't, guess that's what you are counting on.

The title of the thread is also the title to the newsletter I got so I just passed it along. Also ohbummer himself said "the buck stops with me". So when anything happens during his administration good or bad it will be his doings. The "whatever means" is only partially true. I will not tell lies but at the same time I will not sugar coat anything I see as a threat. Obama owes the peope who put him in office and PETA is one of those groups. He must give them something so as to keep their support. I am counting on people to be scared of this guy enough to not just take the mainstream media and his word for anything.

Ok, I'll take Peta on my side..... But you will have to promise to take the Westboro Baptist Church on yours. Fair enough?

We can do this all day if you want to.

A vote for a conservative politician is also a vote for:

Coat hanger, back alley abortions.
Women not being allowed to vote.
Blacks, drinking from separate water fountains, riding at the back of the bus
Bombing Women's clinics
Killing Dr's while they are sitting in Church
Bombing public parks
Blowing up Federal buildings
Lynch mobs
Jim Crow laws
Dirty air and water
Greed and corruption
the KKK

just a few for now, I can keep going if you want to keep this nonsense up!
I'm game Danny. How about this? Every example you just posted grossly pales in comparison to the 1.4 MILLION babies that are brutally murdered at the hands of the abortionist EVERY YEAR in this country. How about partial birth abortion? Your messiah supports this barbaric attrocity. I can post up some photos and graphic descriptions of this if you want.
It always seems to come back around to abortion. The thread should have been titled: Obama Bans Sportfishing and Wants to Kill your Un-born Baby. After all he is the Devil. We can discuss abortion if you like, We should however, start another thread

anyone that does not believe there is a real threat to sportfishing just do a google search...RED SNAPPER...as a life long saltwater fisherman and someone who goes down there 5-7 times a year, i will say this is real and a scary situation for fishing.

i am and have been a member of several florida forums and there is a real threat to all gulf fishing. The US government is using false/flawed data to evaluate fish stocks to set season and creel limits.

The federal government already forced the state of Fl to follow the same season for red snapper by threatening full closure if the state did not adopt the same regs. in state waters as in federal waters. Until last season, snapper season ran from April 15- October 31 and 2/person/day in state waters. Due to the potential complete closure by the federal government, Fl caved in and moved its season to the same as the fed season June 1- july 31.

There have been many other propositons lobbied and still being lobbied to close other gulf speices fishing also. 2 years ago a bill was shot down that would have completely closed all king mackeral fishing. it was a bill that that stated that striped marlin were nearly extinct in the gulf and wanted any and all fishing that may potentially harm the stripe marlin stock to be banned.

I could go on and on...Sportfishing is more than bass fishing. It may start in the gulf but if it continues, who says that Uncle Sam does come to Tn and say that bass fishing is hurting the snail darter stock and close bass fishing down too...

do your own research!!!!

Great forum site on the gulf...........www.florida-offshore.com go to forums and fisheries issues.....

I too fish the Gulf of Mexico quite often, and worked for a couple of summers as a mate on several deep sea charter boats back in the early 80's while I was in college. Here again recreational anglers are caught up with commercial fishermen on the depleted red snapper and grouper populations. But in the case of red snapper and grouper recreational anglers and boat captians are at fault too. People from KY TN GA and AL have been flocking to the Gulf Coast every year for decades paying $500.00 for a full day trip and loading cooler after cooler with red snapper and grouper to take home. Over time this, and commercial overfishing has greatly effected red snapper and grouper, both in size and numbers being caught today. Back in the 80's 25 -50 lb groupers were commonplace, most were caught as close as 10-15 miles offshore in water less than a 150 feet. You could also catch 20 to 30 inch snappers like they were bluegill in a farm pond. That's not the case now. Boats are now having to make longer runs, and fish deeper water to find these fish. On a offshore trip less than 25 mile out, you will have to go thru 15 -20 throwback snappers and bee-liners to find a single keeper 16inch red snapper, and a grouper over 15lbs is considered a trophy. I don't know why those in FL are complaining about state waters now being forced to comply with fed water regulations on snappers. There are not any keeper snappers left to catch in state waters anyway (9miles from shore)

outcaster,,,,,you need to check with anyone that has fished the florida panahndle area and AL areas in the last 5 years.....Red Snapper are so plentiful that you can not catch a grouper due to getting a bait down through the snappers. 10 pound snappers are being caught off of wrecks .5 miles off the beach everyday in destin.. i know i have done it! i have friends that even caught red snapper flatling cigar minnows off of kayaks jsut over the 3rd bar around no structure at all in destin less than 400 yards from the beach.... There are literally so many snapper right now that they are becoming pelagic looking for new structure to live on.....In grayton beach year after year for the last 10 years i have caught red snapper and can wave at people on the beach..... and all the recent data from last years catch suggeested that the average snapper caught has gone up over a pound.

I dont doubt that the snappers got overfished 15 years ago but they are in fine shape now and maybe to the point that they are becoming a nuisance fish and eating everything that is hatching from other species....

If you need proof to anythign i say i will post pictures!!!!!!

this is just some of the links of guys catching snapper in 50 ft of water less than a mile from the beach.

No snappers with in 9 miles....come on.....

Like i said if a guy from chattnooga can take a kayak down and launch with public numbers, paddle a half mile and catch them ANY DAY OF THE WEEK....there are a bunch there!!!!!

and oh yeah..i have nto fished Federal waters in 5 years and my freezer is still full of snapper filets!

On the CSO forum I used to frquent a bunch, and Aldo on the GON site, the Gulf charter captains and weekend warriors complain non-stop about the snapper situation backfiring badly. You canoot hardly catch a grouper unless your diving for them, then there are plenty.

Danny you started it with the list of Republican garbage. I never mentioned abortion until then do just don't go there.

once the politics start, they don't stopl. that is why there is a political forum, but since we are here-i am republican, but voting for one party over another to get something, usually gets you no were. demo/liberals want to save the earth, but they want to blame the outdoorsman for the problems, not the people who give them millions to wreck it. vote who believes what you do and hope for the best. i just heard of obama wanting to protect some saltwater fish like the blue fin tuna, because of over commercial fishing. isn't the ocean big enough to fix this problem it self

1.4 millions babies aborted each year leads to less welfare babies an actually helps society because these babies are not being raised by these poor humans.Every idea has two sides theres one

Your right, I have only been offshore bottom fishing once in the last 3 years and did manage 1 keeper snapper off a near shore wreck where we used to load the boat regularly. If what you are saying is true about that big snapper being thick again close to shore, I'll take your word for it, it's fantastic news and proves to me at least, that the closed season, and laws requiring venting tools, de-hookers and circle hooks have done a much better than expected job of turning things around.

Plenty of sheephead, and dull knives. Ask the Redfish guys what they think about the liberal nutjobs effort toward conservation.

Why just stop with the babies? Why not take out handicapped people? How about old people? This is the most rediculous argument for murdering unborn human beings that anyone has ever used.

So Cheez do you think that the U.S. can prop up the weak, lazy, and incapable citizen in our society and still survive as a nation?

So Cheez do you think that the U.S. can prop up the weak, lazy, and incapable citizen in our society and still survive as a nation?
It's not the government's job to do. That responsibility belongs to the private sector (churches, charities, etc.). They are more efficient and fair in taking care of those that need it. When the government tries to create systems to do it, they become oversized and abused, like Medicare and Medicaid. Thanks for the quote by the way emoPoke

Your welcome. There is one good thing about charities, they are never abused. Noone would ever think about starting a charity, tax free paying themselves a big salery and calling everyone they can for donations, and helping noone. Some charities do good things. Churches do great things. Bless their heart alot that go need help themselves. Until the people that really care make more money, what they can do is limited. Whats bad we live in a modern society where the rich benifit from the blood, sweat, and tears from our past, and the very people that put them there are the ones to blame for our problems. I just cannot deal with that. Will not except that. People say we are living beyond our means, true, but I know to many working two jobs, or mom, dad working, kids taking care of kids. Family values I guess. Just to live in a house that is somewhat comfortable. Then you have those that have maximized profit by selling their employees that we can not pay you more because we cannot compete, make millions more and reap big bonuses, donate big money to people that keep people believing that. Cause they need to make millions to live within their means. They don't care if economy fails, that just means their millions can buy more as prices fall. Sometimes I just think if you can't beat them, just join them.
