Doc1 - 8/12/2009 1:26 AMThere are no asumptions, Billy told me so himself and a few others but i doubt he will own up to it.
So whats your point DOC?

He was a smooth talker and indeed turned some eyes and won. People did want a change but I don't think they realized what they were really getting. It makes no difference now who anyone voted for. However I do believe it is time for CHANGE and not this same Socialized change he is leading our country down.
I admit I didn't vote for him nor did the majority of Tennesseans but those that did, did it for a reason. However I would say considering the polling numbers many wished they had not!

I don't care who you voted for in 2008. It is time we get some back bone and stand up to this Socialized Government and ruining the future for our children.

I am not perfect and I do a lot of things wrong but I do know the change we need starts with getting back to the principles of our founding fathers. Getting back to One Nation under GOD, not Buddha or Jihad but GOD!
Our Nation is broke and broken and there is only one way to fix it! emoUSA

The government is gonna try to keep us devided. Then they will play both sides to get what is the best for thier finacial backers. To think that Obama is different than any other politician is delusional. I just want the truth. Im not getting that from the government.

Preach on turtle lover!!!! We the American people have been getting screwed for years, and a change in the white house does not mean we won't get screwed some more.

I say we fire them all!

Obama has his work cut out for him for sure, but could you imagin how F'd our executive government would be with Sarah Palin on the payrol. I vote with my brain and not my wallet. If it is all about money, our country is F&%$ed no matter what team your on. I want smart people making decisions, not ignorant people making "gut" decisions. What if GWB had been president durning the cuban missle crisis? What if Palin had to make a decision regarding national security? I might vote republican next time if they will have a worthy ticket. I'm tired of voting for the lesser of 2 evils. I'm also tired of right winged propaganda suggesting how Obama has ruined our country. He hasn't been in office long enough to change anything yet. It wasn't too long ago that southern states were blue states.

You're right Channing, he hasn't been in long enough to change anything yet, but he's been there long enough for a LOT of folks to realize it was a bad, bad idea. What GOOD points has he made yet?

We would have 52 states and large missle testing range formerly known as Russia.

AMEN I'll drink to that JSV. Get back to what things should be, GOD, take God out and we will be nothing.

Your right, but he HAS Changed alot, and not to the better.

It wasn't too long ago that southern states were blue states.

That was when the two parties were almost opposite of what they are today. The Democratic party USED to be the conservatives.

Obama will save the turtles!

I hope he does. They need to be saved. Why make a joke about that when we all work our butts off to save fish that we catch and release. Maybe so that we can catch them again some other time? So are turtles not worth the time to help save because we don't use them for anything?
I'm not a tree hugger by far, but we have to start thinking about our resorces. I get tired of hearing people talk about certain issues like their stupid. Conservation is the best hope for our children's future not tax breaks.

I don’t want to get into this mess with anyone because it's already deeper than my boots are tall, but I wanted to add something to what Honkytonker said.

The Blue state red state is a mute argument. Remember, Ronald Regan entered political office as a Democrat.

Speaking of Regan, if you like history, hear what he had to say over 25 years ago, it's almost like it was said yesterday:

Well once again, if it's all about the money we're screwed anyway. Money won't be worth anything when we run out of oil. That kind of thinking is what erased the native americans from existence. I'm from south Walker county, Ga. and I'm tired of seeing all the beautiful farm land chewed up and spit out into subdivsions all in the name of the greenback dollar. Just because you can make a dime, don't mean you should.

I'm tired of seeing all the beautiful farm land chewed up and spit out into subdivsions all in the name of the greenback dollar. Just because you can make a dime, don't mean you should.

Not trying to pick on ya man but, I would guess those farmers sold their land on their own free will. Heck if you bought land for $1K-$2K an acre and can sell it for $25K an acre you'd better do it. Heck if I could net $20K an acre off some land I'd do it in a hearbeat, wouldn't matter if it was pretty, ugly, or my dead grandmaw's bones were buried under it.

In all Fairness I searched to msee more on what I posted, this is what I found. I appologize if i was wrong I guess that we get heated up in this kind of Talk. One thing that you can say about US and Other Red blooded americans is that we are PASSIONATE!! I will watch what i post with care I would like to see what the books actualy say! thanks. JamesC.J

No. A widely circulated e-mail fabricates some quotes from Obama's books and twists others.
Anyone looking for Barack Obama's real sentiments about whites, blacks and Muslims won't find them in this scurrilous collection of falsified, doctored and context-free "quotations." The e-mail claims to feature words taken from Obama's books, "The Audacity of Hope" (2006) and "Dreams from My Father" (1995, republished in 2004). But we found that two of the quotes are false, and others have been manipulated or taken out of context.

We have received many inquiries about this from readers whose suspicions were aroused, with good reason. Aside from the fact that the e-mail incorrectly cites the title of Obama's book as "Dreams of My Father," rather than "Dreams from My Father," you may have noticed that none of the quotes in this e-mail contain page references. This should be a sign to any reader that the author is trying to pull a fast one, betting that you won't take the time to read through all 806 pages of Obama's books to get to the facts.

False Quotes

We'll take these supposed Obama quotes one at a time, starting with the ones that are simply false. The first has Obama confessing to a "sense of grievance" and "animosity" toward whites.

Misleading e-mail: From Dreams of My Father : "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race."

Actual quote from "Dreams from My Father": Nothing like this quote appears in Obama's books.
The Obama campaign states that this quote does not appear in Obama's book "Dreams from My Father." We carefully looked through that book, as well as "The Audacity of Hope," and found nothing similar. The popular urban legends reference site Snopes.com comes to the same conclusion. Snopes also notes that a similar quote does appear in an unfavorable review of "Dreams from My Father" that was published in the March 2007 issue of The American Conservative. But the words are those of the reviewer, Steve Sailer, not Obama.

You're not picking on me minner. All you did was make my point for me. I could never sell the land my grandmothers bones were burried on. Money just don't mean that much to me.
Honestly what happens is there are people that just don't know any better. They get pressured by local politicians and developers to sell parts of their land to "help the community grow". Next thing you know, most all their land is gone and somebody else made 10 times more money.

The Turtle reference was that you seemed to bemaking fun of democrats cause they want to "save the turtles" All I am saying is there is nothing wrong with "saving the turtles" Its no different than us "fisherman" saving our resorce. So I took a little offence to "saving the turtles"

OK, call me uninformed as I didnt know there was any official Save the Turtles spearheaded by anyone, Democrats included. You might want to check out Hagen's "Rank".
