For all you grown men who are scared of little ole snakes, read this and learn something. You don't have to kill snakes! They aren't going to track down your grandchildren and eat them...

This thread on BBC is what got me banned by a self impressed mod who is such a big man he's scared of snakes and got his panties in a wad when I challanged him.

Do you kill every deer you see or are you selective?
Do you kill and eat every fish you catch, or are you selective?
Do you think every snake is out to get you?

That has got to be a joke to start a conversation. No one with any common sense would ever believe that. I met a man who actually thought that once. He thought Snakes were the Devil and he was mad because one forced the first deceitful Bitch on Earth to eat an apple. When I ask him why he ate apples he got so confused he checked himself into the Nut House. He may still be there. If it were not for Snakes I would say the Human race would have died out by now... Derek, that looks like a northern pine snake which would make a very cool ( rare) snake. On TN threatened species list. If it's a NP it will get extremely large (7') part of the reason it is so often killed.

Oh, and congrats on FL win over everyone else's favorite team tonight.

Every Snake in the wild does it's part to make a significantimpact...Snakes in a farmer's barn will crawl into rat burrows and feed on the entire nest of the young rats and crawl to the rafters and eat Bird's eggs and chicks. The best thing a farmer can have in his barn is large non-venomous Snakes. And that is fact...</p>

I am as much of a Sportsman as you are.
I don`t hunt.
Rarely eat fish.
If I can see the snake first it will not get me cause I will kill it.
I`m 6`1" 260lbs so i`m in no way little and not scared of much anything except my mom.

You have a right to love snakes and I have a right to hate snakes that`s what makes the world go round.

It really pisses me off when people kill snakes. Just leave them alone if you are scared of them. It is also illegal to kill them - even poisonous species.

Haha all you guys are a trip. Jim, that snake I caught is one of several found on our property at work, largest was about 4 feet and looked similar to the small one except darker in color. They eat rats so we keep them around.

As long as they stay in the farmers barn I don`t have a problem with it.
