I have only taken the temp of the water for several years but I would say 82-84 degree temps a few feet under the surface is quite early. Given that breaking 80 degrees would be expected in mid-summer. I bank fish and have had to give up fishing from late summer on because of the over growth of aquatic vegetation. I have heard that warm water encourages aquatic weed growth and like wise predict an epic problem if you intend to drag a lure to shore late this summer. I acknowledge that vegetation is important to any ecosystem and believe it to have helped a large part of the sunfish population to grow from a why-bother size to I-might-just-bother-to-skin-him size. But it is difficult to get a nephew to deal with weeds. Any comments from your experiences on warm water and weed growth?
