A scumbag bashed into my wife a week and a half ago, thank God her and the kids were not injured, but my poor F-150,in the process of handing out a butt-whoopin the the Nissan Altima that hit it, took some good damage to the front quarter, bumper, grill, light, etc. They got the tag number before the guy drove off, (light skined black guy in early 20's), but big suprise, it wasnt registered to an Altima. Who knows if it was stolen, or what. It happened on Web Rd, right off HWY 58 at Oakwood Church. </p>

So I got the police report, they have done NOTHING to try and find him. Will they, do they care? Never had this happen before, got any advice?</p>

If you see a Gray (we think) Nissan Altima, with the whole passenger side ripped up pretty bad, and a tag# 908MXV, please let me know. emoRolleyes </p>

I would say if you find the SOB...a butt whooping to him...will be about all that you accomplish. Hope you find him!

Have they even talked to the person that the tag was registered to. He could have traded cars and hadn't changed the tag over at least its an address to start with.

Apperantly not Bubba. They have not done a THING! There is one, count them, one Det. that works hit-and-run cases in the entire city of Chattanooga. How sad is that?

Glad everyone was ok. I have a friend in the same situation. Officer told her not to make a report because her insurance would go up so she said ok. Well after thinking about it she said to herself this is crazy not to have a report. So she called to get a case number and there's no incident no accident report, no nothing!! She then spoke to a sargent and stated her displeasure with the bad advise from the patrol officer he said I'll get back to you. nothing.

They don't have enough resources or officers to police what they have but they want to annex more area. Go figure.

Now ain't that just the truth?! Spur, looks to me that regardless wether or not the tag or car was stolen, some one is responsible for that tag or car! Both items have "ownership" somewhere to someone! I'd call Nashville DMV, can't hurt, only a phone call! If it is a stolen item, then maybe the state authorities have a bigger fish to fry!

uninsured motorist insurance should cover you and your rates should not go up.. talk to your insurance guy.. As far as catching the guys good luck... im sure its on the bottom of the priority list..
Glad no one was hurt thats the most important thing
