I fish alone a lot, but I'm really quite childish at times. Does that count?????
Hint - no kids, something about a woman having to let you get near her.........

Wow! Comparing my calling out Tx'ers that don't take their kids fishing to a racist. Now thats a stretch!

Okay, maybe my post wasn't well thought out.... I could have used a thousand examples of "stereotyping" a group of people. I could have used truck drivers, teachers, policemen, religious persons, kids, women, or sasquatch.....
Still think it's a broad generalization and I have to concede.... Drumking said it best. Stick to what makes this site great... I can complain with the best of them, but just amazed at what garners so much attention on here.

I am not a father nor married. An don't have any type of restraint on when I go or were for that matter. But I was reading a book and thought I would share a short part. As it seems to fit.(somewhat)

From: A Look at Life From a Deer Stand
By: Steven Chapman

"...My Dad always said. "People do what they want to do!"As a pastor who always hoped for folks to want to be in church, he prayed that their "want to" would change. Psalms 37:4 is a familiar favorite passage that states,"He will give you the desires of your heart." It's not just the object of the desire that God wishes to grant, but instead He wants to replace an old desire with a new an improved one. When it comes to dealing with a conflict of interests that steals our presence from our children's lives, we should sincerely pray and ask God to change our desires. Though the "tug" is strong to do that which we want to do, we must let a change in our "want to" take place.

Perhaps there is a dad, like yourself, who is wishing for a change of heart and determining even now to spend some needed time with his children. Please don't let it rob you of your ambition. Go ahead and take the risk. It won't hurt too badly. I promise. Just keep in mind that during your time together someone just might say the words " I love you.""

This happens to be a very good book so far. Especially for me an my life. Just thought I would share.

We are all human beings. All human have good and bad, happy and sad, complaining and edifying. It is just what we do, ALL of us whether we chose to admit it or not. Thsi site has been made great by everything that is on it, warts and all. If everything and everybody were perfect and always sent out flowers and candy how dull and boring would that be.
Read the original post again guys. It is good and if it makes one person think and brings one family closer together than it is worth it.
