well then carter, i can smoke you for sure. even with the sportmaster lower unit.
however, probably a wise move if you want to win some money. that way you can buy the pizza and beer next time! emoLaugh emoLaugh

saw you come by pinkys point friday, told my partner that it looked you were doing about 85 and that it was good to see a SHO on a bullet . I've been wondering though if it is a comp. hull .

yes, i meant its not anything special, i think they weigh 1095 lbs. maybe a little lighter if its not all metal flake!

well I had 19 days of warranty left, and the compressor went out just like they have on thousands of pro xs motors and merc refused the claim because I had so many hours on the motor they ask why, I said I TX fish and just started guiding. I sold the merc as is got a good price and jumped right on a outboard manufacture that will stand behind their products even when they break" yahama". yahama has a real nice guide program that includes 3 yrs warranty, price discount, and after market available. the reviews on the sho are great, I love its performance and hole shoot. I got the sho because its ratings not because merc is being a ********. I will quote from their letter" if you earn 1 dollar with a merc under warranty it can be void because that makes it a commercial use motor".

larry why would i have to pm an answer??

thanks guys for your info , I want to learn all I can about these motors. I haven't run it anymore because of the weather and the last few days of deer season, I will start a new post from ny next trip hope to get it up two 6 hours so I can start looking at its fule mileage. maybe Friday saw 48 in the forecast.

Commercial users of these products receive
warranty coverage of one (1) year from the date of first retail sale, or one
(1) year from the date on which the product was first put into service,
whichever occurs first. Commercial use is defined as any work or
employment related use of the product, or any use of the product which

is only occasionally used for such purposes.

sounds like mercury would honor their warranty if your boat is sitting at home and not on the water, but if you use it quiet a bit then they dont want to do so.its easy to warranty something when it is not being used.just my three cents.

It just amazes me that people will sign a document without reading it first. Had the signee read this agreement he would of known that there was a one year warranty for commercial use. Pretty simple.... If you make money with any item it is then considered a commercial use product. That also goes for the money, if itis won in a tournament or supplied to the boat owner as a guide fee, it is also subject to additional taxes from the IRS.

FishinMagician: So, even if I sign up for the Friday Night Dogfight and win 20 bucks they could void my warranty?!!!
