List of ethanol free gas stations

Chattanooga Fishing Forum

Help Support Chattanooga Fishing Forum:

UPDATE: Phillips 66 with the Subway on HWY 64 (Left) going towards Parksville no longer carries ethanol free gas. The blue gas station on your right (going towards Polk CO.) on HWY 64 still carries the ethanol free I believe.

There is another update for this list. The Shell on Bonny oaks and the Shell on 58 close to Hamilton's is not ethanol free anymore. They are just going to force us to use ethanol. Check the pumps before you fill....the scene is changing!

Exxon at intersection of hwy 58 and hwy 153
Phillips station at corner of Banks Rd and East Brainerd Rd (small parking lot)
Exxon at corner of East Brainerd and Fuller Rd (small parking lot)
New Save a Ton/Smile across from Advanced Auto Parts on East Brainerd Rd.
Exxon at Shallowford Rd and I-75 just off the interstate at Hamilton Place Mall exit.

All Ethanol free.

Have you guys noted that there are some new "HiTech" stations in the area that advertise both types with and without ethenol. I've seen one in Dayton and one other, I think, was near Hamilton Place. You can see it on the price signage. Look for more of these.

The Shell station on the right heading toward Wolfetever and the Exon at 153 and Hwy 58 are both ethanol free.

Not anymore for the Shell on 58 and I see where Gene's on Bonny Oaks has switched from Shell to Exxon but I don't know about his gas yet.

Gene has sold out to some foreign guys. They do not have ethanol free any more. Talked to Gene and he said in about 6 months everyone will have ethanol. Also Gene has the liquor store that has opened there. Go by and see him!

I saw that Exxon sign over at Gene's and wondered? Also noticed that the Shell up on Hwy 58 that had a no ethanol sign out has changed too. But can someone tell me why some Exxon stations are E10 ethanol and some is 100% gasoline? Why make both? I guess that's like asking why the milk companies have whole milk and 2% but, I just wondered. I think that it will be all E 10 or E 15 very soon!

all ethanol free Exxon gas stations are owned by the same group. I get my gas at the one on 58. Ethanol free gas goes further to.

I understand that the Ethanol is added at the terminal, not at the refinery. That being the case, individual stations can easily order it either way. Last summer, the guy at 4 corners in Collegedale told me he had no plans to switch to E10 because his customers buy enough E-free to make it economically feasible.

His prices are right at 10 cents per gallon more than gasoline in Ooltewah, near I-75. I am concerned that the tree huggers will force everyone to go to E-10. I also believe that the fed will soon force all stations to have at least one pump sellling E15.

Jay's Food Mart on Mountain Creek Road just switched to an E10 Ethanol blend from 100% Gasoline on all 3 octanes. That is a real bummer, I was buying all of my gas there, especially for my boats (would fill up several 5 gallon jugs before heading home into the river gorge), and don't know of any other ethanol free stations in the area. Anyone know of another ethanol free station close by?

Well the Exxon at E. Brainerd and / Morris Hill / Hurricane Creek Estates, is 100% gas, but 2/3's of the others that I stop at arte E -10!? I was just wondering. I did tell them that I wanted the E free and thanks for it! But I'm just afarid ...

So basically if I understand this right, it's all a matter of money to the gas station owners. The only reason there are any stations that are ethenol free is that by diluting the gas with ethenol, the stations get their gas cheaper (because the ethenol portion is cheaper than the gas portion), but sell the same volume, and hence a greater profit. The non ethenol stations are now reduced to few enough that they can make money based on those buyers looking for and willing to spend more on ethenol free gas. To the consumers like us, many of which buy the cheapest descent quality gas we can find, we buy the ethenol gas, not realizing that the sacrifice in gas mileage makes up at least most of the difference in price. Therefore, given a choice, it almost is a break even proposition for us moneywise, we aren't saving anything by paying less for ethenol free. Stations converting to ethenol gas are simply trying to increase their profits. THe idea that ethenol is helping us get off foreign oil is ludicrous, because we use more of it, but who cares (if you are a politician), because you look like you are doing something good and hence have a better chance of being re-elected. Did I miss anything??????

actually the price is close to the same.. you have to pay for the processing of the corn and other things like that.. the gov requires that the companies put x amount in their gasoline.. therefore they can charge more for the pure stuff..

The guys at the Exxon stations on East Brainerd Rd [Morris Hill RD. and Banks RD.] both told me today that the 100% gasoline is about over! They said they had no say in the matter. Their distributor said that all the supply companies was dropping the E-free and going all the way with E-10. This would probably happen by mid Feb. So very soon it's all going to be E-10 wether we like it or not! They also said that the E-15 was on the way as an option for the retailers.
