Census

Help Support Chattanooga Fishing Forum:

No need to break out the tin foil hats. The Census is a Constitutional mandate and the census records and data specific to individual respondents are not available to the public until 72 years after a given census is taken.

They made the mistake of releasing the census data to other agencies...the result was the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII. Since then the supreme court has ruled never to allow that to happen again.

There is no worry. If you do not fill the form out - they will send someone to your house. If you do not answer the door they have the ability to sit there and wait for you to come out simply to count how many people are living there.

grayson_garrett - 3/15/2010 7:30 PM Those of you that have conspiracy theories, the census is very important to our local governments, it determines the amount of money that is sent to take care of certain duties, I am not going to get into all of that, but it is important to answer then honestly so that your local government gets the proper amount!

I take it seriously, and have no issues with the short form. But, mandatory compliance with the long form is garbage, a breach of privacy, and has nothing to do with what you state above.</p>

There is a long form and short form.
I think the 10 question short form is the one that was snet to most people.
The census was started to see the # of people in an area, so that proper political represntation could be determined.
I'm not an authority on this, BUT, I believe you can take the Fifth Amendment on all questions except the # of people in your household, race & own a home, even though the government says "under penalty of law, and or fine or both." Obama and Co. spent $144 million $$ to get this done..makes you wonder why.
Guess they will mark your door with chicken blood and your eldest son will die, or maybe stitch a star on your coat.
Be careful out there, and keep one in the chamber, if you have a double safety.

I did not answer the race part. I think it is unconstutional for the goverment to ask about race or even consider race in any way. This is descrimination, no other way to look at it. What do they do with the race data, and why does it even matter what race you are. Everyone should be considered the same under the goverment, no matter what race you are.

Affermitve Action is the most raciest program ever established by our goverment. If you are a middle class white man you are screwed.
