No need to break out the tin foil hats. The Census is a Constitutional mandate and the census records and data specific to individual respondents are not available to the public until 72 years after a given census is taken.
They made the mistake of releasing the census data to other agencies...the result was the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII. Since then the supreme court has ruled never to allow that to happen again.
There is no worry. If you do not fill the form out - they will send someone to your house. If you do not answer the door they have the ability to sit there and wait for you to come out simply to count how many people are living there.
